A Faster Way to Characterize Catalysts

Is your lab involved in catalyst development, and looking for a faster way to characterize catalysts? If yes, then you know that understanding the performance of a catalyst under different operational parameters is critical. This is especially true before they are moved into large-scale installations.

The Frontier Rx-3050TR Tandem Micro-Reactor is a novel solution that delivers rapid catalyst screening. Whether you are looking for speed, efficiency, or space savings, the Tandem µ-Reactor is the faster way to characterize catalysts, and the ultimate solution for understanding the composition and performance of a new catalyst.

During this short 6-minute webinar, you will learn:

  • How the micro-furnace design of the Tandem µ-Reactor delivers precise temperature control and quick heating and cooling
  • An overview of the rapid catalyst evaluation -using a mass spectrometer as a detector
  • Different analysis modes of operation for real-time monitoring and separation analysis

About the Frontier Tandem Micro-Reactor:

Frontier Rx3050TR Tandem Micro-Reactor is the must-have tool for research and development labs that work with catalysts. The instrument’s tandem configuration features two independently heated micro furnace-based reactors. First, an upper reactor can heat, vaporize, or pyrolyze a gas, liquid or solid sample. Because of this, these vapors are swept into the lower reactor with the carrier gas. And finally, a lower reactor contains a catalyst bed in quick-change quartz tubes.

Feedstock is catalytically converted and the reactant products are determined real-time. Alternatively, it can be chromatographically-separated and detected by a mass spectrometer (GC/MS). A supplied flow controller allows the user to add a reaction gas to the lower reactor.
